Granite is a natural product and a wonderful choice for a kitchen worktop, given its hardwearing properties. Being a natural product, it does need sealing to help prevent staining. We apply a sealant to all granite surfaces on installation and we recommend that the surfaces are resealed from time to time. The frequency of resealing will depend on the granite selected, but generally speaking the lighter-coloured granites will need resealing more frequently. We can diarise this when we install your worktops. In addition to sealing your granite worktops, we recommend that hot pans or dishes straight from the hob / oven are placed on pan stands to protect the granite surface. Granite is very strong and durable as a kitchen work surface, but it is not indestructible so care should also be taken when handling heavy pots above the surface
